Destination: SPAIN (Barcelona, Valencia, Seville)
Dates: July 12th - Aug. 3rd (3 weeks)
Leader: Dr. Carlos Alvarez
Team Members Needed: FIVE
Dr. Pinyol is an expert in the history of the Reformation in Spain, which was the topic of his doctoral dissertation. He will travel with the team to the city of Seville, the birthplace of Casiodoro de Reina and Cipriano de Valera, who translated the Bible from its original tongues into Spanish in 1560. The Reina-Valera version is still the most used bible version among Spanish-speaking believers. In Seville, besides visiting historical buildings related to the Spanish Reformation and also the Spanish Inquisition, the team will work with Iglesia Bautista Fe.
The team will visit Valencia and minister at Iglesia Biblica Bautista de Torrent, led by missionary Arnold Belasco, whose daughter is a PCC student.
We will use the A Beka English as a Second Language program in Christian camps in Spain . We will do immersion-style teaching of English and we will also present the Plan of Salvation in English and Spanish. Our target audiences are teenagers and college-age young people. We will also serve the churches with evangelism, special music, and youth ministries, in coordination with native believers.
Please pray for our team as we prepare for our mission trip:
- Pray that each team member continues to be a clean vessel so that he can be used for the Lord.
- Pray that each team member can raise the financial support needed to cover all costs the trip.
- Pray for missionary Peter Pinyol, for his family, and for the churches the team will visit.
- Pray for the country of Spain and for opportunities to minister there in these difficult times.
